This is a special occasion rice in Sri Lanka. Lumprais originated from the dutch word lomprijst. It is a mouth watering combination of delicately spiced ghee rice, mixed meat curry, eggplant, breaded fish cutlet, caramelized onion and blachan, covered with banana leaf. Best served hot out of the oven to allow the exotic flavours of the banana leaf to infuse into the rice.
